Producer Obligations

The producers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), according to the provisions of Legislative Decree 49/2014 and subsequent amendments, must meet certain requirements, including:
- Organizing and financing the collection, treatment, and recycling of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment);
- Registering with the National Register of EEE producers;
- Including the registration number in all commercial documents;
- Annually declaring to the National Register the quantities and categories of EEE placed on the market in the previous year;
- Marking the EEE with the crossed-out bin symbol and the producer’s logo according to UNI standards;
- Providing, within the user instructions for the EEE, adequate information on the proper disposal of WEEE;
- Informing treatment plants about the composition of products and the potential use of hazardous materials;
- Establishing a financial guarantee.
The Foreign Producer refers to an entity not established in Italy that sells directly to Italian consumers – both domestic and professional – through distance communication methods.
To comply with Italian law, the Foreign Producer must designate an Authorized Representative located within Italy. This Representative is responsible for managing, on behalf of the Producer, all regulatory obligations and legal duties resulting from the Producer’s activities in Italy.
In this regard, PV CYCLE ITALIA CONSORZIO provides an Authorized Representative service for its members, not only in Italy but also in all other European countries where such legislation applies. Our service ensures full compliance with national regulations, guaranteeing that all legislative obligations are properly and effectively fulfilled.
The appointment of an Authorized Representative is therefore a critical step in safeguarding the Producer's interests and ensuring the correct and lawful conduct of their activities in both the Italian and European markets.
